Today was the second school closure day in a row. Freezing rain. The scale went up again this morning. So I responded with a good day of eating and drinking a lot of water, which I had been a bit lax at doing. Rode my stationary setup for 35 minutes. Went for … Continue reading January 25th
January 25th
Today I am thankful for crunching ice under my boots. Dramatic frozen branches that bring a bit of chaos. Cauliflower chicken wings.
Everything is a blessing…
Watched a short doc this morning about the Pacific Crest Trail. The author of the doc ( and the main character) said that all the hikers on the PCT had the attitude that " Everything is a blessing..." It made me reflect upon what I am trying to accomplish with this blog. Of course, I … Continue reading Everything is a blessing…

So the scale bounces back. Always good. A good day to eat delicious fish tacos with lime coleslaw and fresh mango salsa, washed down with a bottle of cold white wine...yummy. Fantastic concert today in support of the Sackville Music Festival. What a gift music is. Wonderful storytelling as well!

Well, the scale was friendly this morning. Went for a long hike around the frozen dyke with Finn. It took the better part of two hours. Went over on the calories bu eight or nine hundred. Tomorrow morning may not be so kind.
Scratches and Nuts
It is a winter of tracks in the snow. Bold ring -necked pheasant tracks go across the back yard as a cocky challenge to Finn. They leave chicken feet scrawl gently punctuated by a wispy tail drag. Boxy little rodent tracks scurry back and forth, like a confused railway line. Rabbit tracks hop … Continue reading Scratches and Nuts
When I am laid…
I am thankful for fuck-ups, because they can lead to funny moments. Tonight we drove to Moncton to go to see Dido and Aeneas, which was one of Paula's favourite pieces of music in university. We went early and went to a Malaysian restaurant and had dinner, then walked over to the … Continue reading When I am laid…
