In the last day or so I had the great fortune to attend a session with a chef and learn how to make gnocchi from scratch.  He also walked us through the finer points of something delicious called brown butter sauce.  It was a delight to be taught by someone with deep knowledge and excitement.

I also began teaching the annual flatwater canoeing course.   I am thankful that this year’s group is particularly strong and is energetic, even in the cold rain.

My lovely wife has mad her wonderful coconut pie, great pollo con arroz, and her amazing Queen Elizabeth date cake.  Who cares about losing weight when confronted with such good eating!

I am grateful for all these things…
