I always felt happy visiting Norma. She was sure of herself and had a mischievous sense of humour. We visited her at the hospital in Tatamagouche once and Paula had given her a kiss. Norma looked at me and asked me if i would also give her a kiss – on the neck! Early on in our relationship, I had announced that I was a communist. Norma simply told me to ‘smarten up.” I have fond memories of her and will miss her. Yet, writing a little bit about her puts a smile on my face. Knowing her was a blessing.
